Why choose a Coversys steel tile?

Coversys, from the outside:

The quality

Coversys never compromises on quality. The raw materials used in the manufacturing process are selected with great care and attention.

  • Steel : Coversys works with alu-zinc steel. The galvanised alu-zinc 150 provides an excellent protection against corrosion. This product (55% Aluminium, 44% Zinc, 1% Silicon) protects six times longer against corrosion than current galvanised steel or galfan containing 5% aluminium and zinc. It meets the requirements of the EN508-1 2005 Standard.
  • The Coating : Coversys developed its own dry powder coating system. It is necessary for the coating to be polymerised to ensure good adhesion to the tiles . This technology provides a non-porous coating. Your roof is well protected against algae and moss. It also forms good protections from several climatic effects, such as snow, hailstones and UV (of tests).
  • Tests : Coversys products have undergone a number of tests to prove resistance under severe conditions :
    • resistant against corrosion and watertight ness
    • resistant against fire : T30/1 et M1 (doesn’t spread fire)
    • resistant against wind : 200km/h
    • In accordance with CSTB, UBATC, ...
  • Guarantee : Coversys offers a 30 year non-degressive guarantee for its products. Coversys guarantee the integrity of the products, watertight ness, coating, uniformity of the colour.

The functionality

  • Installation : The products have been developed to facilitate easy handling. The gauge of 40 cm results in further savings in the use of tile battens and fixing. Furthermore the format of the tiles ensures that cutting is kept to a minimum. The Coversys steel roofing tiles can be used on roof pitches from as low as 7°. Fixing of the tiles can be carried out with the minimum of equipment.
  • Fixing : Installation of the Coversys steel roofing tiles must be carried out in accordance with Coversys fixing instructions (see fixing instructions). The water tightness is guaranteed due to the ‘double interlocking’ system. When correctly installed (with Coversys recommended materials) the roof can withstand wind speeds of up to 200km/h.
  • Ventilation : The fixing instruction recommended by Coversys provides for optimal ventilation and reduces the risk of major condensation. In case of extreme heat, the size of the tiles also minimises problems associated with expansion.
  • Roof details : Due to the small size of the Coversys tiles and easy cutting, allows for easy installation of roof windows (Velux type) as well as easy fixing around chimneys, abutments, verges and mansards.

The aesthetics

  • Coversys offers tiles in three profiles: Alpha (flat tile), Delta (hollow tile) and Sierra (Roman tile), all in several types of coating. You can choose for your one of the four types of glossy coating: pearly, satin, flamed, rustic.
  • Coversys is the leading manufacturer in glossy coating, offering a wide variety and combination of colours. The pearly finish is available in ten standard colours, other colours can be supplied on request. The flamed colour is available in two ‘ton sur ton’ finishes and the rustic colour offers a slightly weathered effect. Within this range of colours and finishes you will find a product to suit your personal requirements as well as satisfy the demands of the local planning authorities.

Environment

  • When compared with emulsion acrylics, the coating technique developed by Coversys is particularly environmentally friendly. The durability of the polyester coating ensures that is not washed down with the rainwater, preventing water pollution.
  • The polyester HPD coating furthermore prevents biocides setting on the tiles.
  • Steel can be recycled.
